But there are a few ‘gotchas’ when it comes to beach weddings in Bali. The first being that under Indonesian law beach front is always public domain or in other words it is not possible for anyone to privately own a stretch of beach.
That also applies to hotels and resorts. Consequently nobody will be able to guarantee you privacy for a beach wedding in Bali. Therefore it is generally not recommended to hold a beach wedding in Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Kerobokan or Canggu.
The same applies for Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Sanur. However there are a few secluded beaches in Bali and some wedding organizers are able to plan and arrange your dream beach wedding.
There are also some private villas and resorts too, which are only a stone throw away from the beach where you can have a wedding overlooking the sea. In case you have guests at your wedding please bear in mind that unless the beach is connected to a hotel or villa there maybe no facilities available and it can get very hot.
Some hotels and resorts in the areas mentioned above advertise beach weddings, but the majority of those wedding venues are still within the hotel’s compound and not directly at the beach. Often the beach and the sea are not even directly visible from where the couple will be positioned during their ceremony.
To avoid disappointments, it is best to go to an independent wedding planner in Bali, who can offer you several alternatives and who can give you an honest assessment of the venues they offer.
Plan B: Another thing to consider when holding a beach wedding is to have a plan B in case it rains.
Even in the dry season in Bali there is still a possibility of rain. So if you plan to hold your wedding on a beach make sure your wedding planner has a backup plan prepared for you.

Hi. We are an Irish/British couple who would like to get married on December 31st 2020. We would like a barefoot beach sunset wedding with a legal ceremony for approximately 20 people with dinner, drinks and music after. Please can you let me know how far in advance I will need to start planning this wedding as I am sure this is a popular date. Also, would you be able to recommend a good wedding planner for us?
Hi there. I Would like to organize a small beach commitment ceremony (legal marriage will be in Brazil) with a beautiful restaurant close by for a dinner. We only want something small and intimate for just the two of us and maybe a photographer and two or three instrument players (like drums and ukulele) to create a beach kind of mood. Thanks
My husband and me plan to be in Bali in October 2018
We will like to have a simple, small and inexpensive ceremony, just for us, with no guests .Could you please send me a price for photographer, flowers, wedding cake.. and beach wedding.
Thanks

We already replied to you via email.
Thank you ! We already emailed you.
We are looking for a beach wedding 2 + 5 guests. Its does not have to be official, we just need a very simple ceremony. Which would be a good location and how much would it cost. We are planning this in first week or November.
Regards,
Pravin

Welcome to Bali. We have already emailed you more information.
Can you recommend a wedding planner. 🙂

Hi, Further to the questions from several others above, i wanted to know if you could send some details and rough prices/guidelines for a full legal wedding in Bali in Feb 2018. My partner and I (English and South African) want to get legally married in Bali, on the beach- like sand between my toes type vibe. It would just be the two of us and we would need it to be fully legalised, the only other important things that come to mind would be a photographer, videographer, hair/makeup and perhaps ideas for the evening and accommodation.
Thank you in advance.
cheers – please see your inbox for more infos in response to your inquiry.

Hi, Further to the questions from several others above, i wanted to know if you could send some details and rough prices/guidelines for a full legal wedding in Bali over the coming months. My partner and I (English and Australian) want to get legally married in Bali (probably somewhere on the Bukit) but it would just be the two of us and at most 1 or 2 close friends who already live out there. Beach location or something overlooking the beach and other than the fact we would need it to be fully legalised, the only other important things that come to mind would be a photographer, hair/makeup and perhaps ideas for the evening and accommodation.
Thank you in advance.

My fiancée and I are wondering if it is possible to get married in Bali next weekend (27th January 2017) somewhere on a small intimate beach with my sister and her husband as our witnesses. Possibly close to Sanur as we are staying there but would not like to do this in a touristy hotel. Just a small simple inexpensive ceremony which we would at a later date celebrate with family and friends back home in Australia. We would like this to be a full legal marriage and would like to know if given the short time frame, this would even be possible? Can anyone suggest a wedding planner who could organize this for us at such short notice?
Hi Megan! We replied via the email.

Hi. I am a Malaysian Indian and my fiance is Australian. We intend to have a beach wedding in Bali sometime between Jan-Feb 2013. We prefer a relaxing casual wedding – non religious. We were thinking of a cocktail wedding with local meals. And a signing ceremony where we could register our marriage that is recognised in Australia and Malaysia. We would have about 50 guest. Can you recommend us a good place that is not too populated?
