Only an hour’s drive away from Bali’s coast and beaches, dynamic Ubud is for those who prefer a greener, cooler and more cultural environment. Ubud boasts scenic walks and biking, bird watching, sculpted rice terraces, lush river gorges and a real monkey forest with moss-covered temples. The area is best known for its diverse cultural attractions. Downtown has limitless shopping possibilities and literally hundreds of painting studios, souvenir and gift shops and chic retail boutiques bursting with high-end fashions, handcrafted jewelry, museum-quality antiques as well as products of local artisans - woodcarvings, paintings, basketry, batik clothes and sarongs, home décor accessories for both discriminating shoppers, art connoisseurs and collectors.
For weddings in Bali Ubud offers a range of resorts and villas with stunning venues overlooking steep valleys and gorges. Those venues range from an open-air riverside pavilions with jungle vistas to tucked-away small villas. But you will also find large-scale dining halls for larger receptions in the comfort of an all-inclusive luxury resort. Couples may exchange vows in the middle of a tropical garden with petal-strewn pool and have a wedding dinner party in the contemporary environment of one of the countless local restaurants nearby. Ubud is also a distinctive gastronomic center with varied stand-alone restaurants serving the best of Asian and Western cuisines catering to all tastes and budgets. And you may want to incorporate such Balinese classics as smoked duck (bebek betutu) and mouth watering spit-roasted suckling pig (babi guling) for your wedding reception dinner. Ubud is also Bali’s center for yoga, meditation, alternative health practices and spiritual pursuits. The spas of Ubud are legendary.
Photo opportunities for your portrait session are rather limited in Ubud and often require travelling some distances. Generally weddings in Ubud tend to be more expensive as many wedding vendors such as bands, makeup artists and photographers charge extra fees for their services when having to travel to Ubud. Ubud based vendors tend to be less sophisticated and often do not match the quality levels couples expect. The downtown area of Ubud is very crowded with congested traffic and the town has rather poor road infrastructure. So, if you are a lover of lush, tropical greenery and would like to garnish your wedding with Balinese culture then Ubud may be a good choice for your nuptials here on the island of the gods. Ubud has a lot venues for you to choose from. If you want us to help you arranging your dream Bali wedding in Ubud please send us an email.

Hi
Can you recommend a venue in ubud or canggu that can accommodate up to 250 people for a wedding? Ideally I prefer an estate/villas vs. a hotel. Thanks!
