Makeup in Bali

Ladies, I am very excited to present you some useful beauty tips and how to prepare your skin for your big day in Bali. Tia from BALI MAKEUP & HAIR has been so kind to share this with us.

When is the best time to start preparing your skin for the big day?

To get the best results, you should start preparing your nails, hair and skin, as early as 6 months before your wedding. Yes, that may sound a bit extreme but it can really make a big difference!

What sort of preparations should brides do?

A standard routine should consist of cleansing, toning and moisturizing, twice a day: morning & night. The toner will help to remove any last traces of cleanser. It will also balance the PH of your skin and prepare it for your moisturizer.

It can take a while to find the right products for your skin type and it’s often a case of trial and error. However, almost all skincare companies offer samples, which provide a great opportunity to ‘try before you buy’. Good to make use of.

Be careful! Some of the ‘cheaper’ makeup companies in Bali may not use the best possible cosmetics and you may end up with a allergic reaction…. Not a pleasant experience to have 30 minutes before you are supposed to walk down the aisle..

Don’t Get Stuck in A Never Ending Product Circle!

A mistake people often make is to keep using the same products for years and years.

However, our skin can change all the time with the effects of aging, lifestyle and environmental factors, so it is a good plan to change every 6 months.

A simple and effective way to do this is to have a cleanser, toner and moisturiser especially for in spring/summer and for autumn/winter.

Are you coming to Bali and you have that special cosmetic product that is ideal for your skin, bring it with you. The stylist can use it together with the products they are using.

Monthly Facials

If regular professional facials are not for your budget then seek advice from the skin care specialist in beauty stores, or in the many, many spas here in Bali. They are qualified Beauty Therapists and are able to recommend suited products for you and treat your skin well.

An important one: Don’t attempt a deep cleansing facial the day before the wedding, as it will inevitably lead to breakouts! Instead opt for a light skin smoothing treatment.

If you get a spot (horror story!) a few days before the big day what should you?

There is no easy answer. The best way to conceal a blemish is to apply concealer with a small make up brush and blend before applying the foundation. If you have a spot-treatment gel put it on overnight; the spot should vanish overnight.

Then by the following day it’s pretty much a distant memory.

How can I get soft, silky smooth skin on my body?

Use a body brush daily! As this is really effective to help smooth away dead skin cells.

It also stimulates the body to eliminate toxins and helps to release water retention. Body brushing works best if done after a shower. It should take less than a minute. Brush towards the heart.

Apply also your chosen anti-cellulite treatment to complete the process. The key is to be consistent in your treatments!

Anything else?

Actually yes there is: Almost everything that is happening in our body, including our skin is strongly influenced by what we eat and drink.

It may be a good idea to reduce fatty foods a few weeks before the wedding. And eat more fruits and veggies and other foods with high levels of anti-oxidants.

And while it may sound trivial it’s actually often overlooked: Drink lots of water and healthy fruit and veggies juices. Which is probably the best way to cleanse your body and your skin.
